Teltex is a new service of Poste Italiane

Teltex is a new service of Poste Italiane for certified integrated messaging, which allows:

to send messages to international telex subscribers
to send messages to Italian Teltex subscribers
to send telegrams to national and foreign destinations

Foreigners telex users

Foreigner telex users to send messages to Italian teltex users can simply dial the Italian country code followed by teltex user number as usual for connections to real time telex terminals.

For instance: 043 600135
When connection is set up, called subscriber answer-back is received.

For instance 600135=DCE RM I

The sign "=" between number and letters means that delivery of message are handled by means of a store and forward system.

Messages can also be sent calling our store and forward unit (SFU) teltex number, 043 540540 according to instructions included "Operational procedures" which can be un-loaded from this page.
