Our role and our impact

Poste Italiane represents the connective tissue of the country: a national, reliable and inclusive infrastructure, capable of combining local proximity, advanced technologies and industrial capacity, and contributing to Italy’s long-term economic and social growth. Our role, in fact, places us at the forefront in fostering sustainable development, digital evolution, and national cohesion.

In 2025, we have achieved the best results in our history, despite an international scenario marked by multiple uncertainties, with record revenues of €13,1 billion, and continue to generate significant impacts on the national economy in terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), tax revenue, employment, and household income.

In the period from 2018 - 2025, we generated a total impact of approximately €104 billion in Gross Domestic Product (GDP), €58 billion in labor income, and €18 billion in tax revenues. On average, we also contributed to the creation of 188,000 jobs.

Our 2024–2028 Strategic Plan – The Connecting Platform, updated in February 2026, has set out clear guidelines for sustainable growth to strengthen our position in the logistics sector, focus on digital innovation, and consolidate our leadership in payments.

Furthermore, confirming the importance of sustainability for our Group, the ESG Plan has been closely integrated into the strategy. Looking ahead, artificial intelligence will represent a key growth accelerator for our platform: in particular, it will enable us to implement a new commercial service model and optimize logistics operations.
