Poste Italiane confirms its role in policies to fight against climate change and reaches for the third consecutive year the "Leadership" category of the international classification ranking drawn up annually by CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), obtaining the 'A-' rating. The 'A-' score, on a scale of D- to A, is higher than the European regional average and the average for the Intermodal Transport and Logistics sector.

The certification obtained by Poste Italiane is particularly important in light of the global prestige of CDP, an independent non-profit organisation recognised as the international “gold standard” in environmental reporting and specialised in reporting and evaluation of performance and climate strategies adopted by companies. In 2022, more than 680 investors with more than $130 trillion in assets and more than 280 large buyers with more than $6.4 trillion in procurement expenditures asked thousands of companies to provide data on their environmental performance through CDP's assessment.

The assessment of the Poste Italiane Group highlighted its ability to adopt strategic planning and climate risk management solutions, to report on its emissions and to implement initiatives to reduce environmental impacts throughout the value chain. In particular, Poste Italiane stood out for its transparent reporting and for defining sustainable business policies and strategies.

"We are particularly proud of the recognition we have received," said Poste Italiane’s CEO Matteo Del Fante, “both because it confirms our ability to adopt strategic solutions in our environmental sustainability and climate change policies, and because the reliability and transparency of our figures further enhance the Group’s international reputation. Remaining in the Leadership category for the third consecutive year therefore confirms that Poste Italiane is on the right track to cross the zero net emissions target by 2030, well ahead of the timeframe set by international agreements”.

“The score received,” commented Poste Italiane’ Co-General Manager Giuseppe Lasco, "once again attests to the effectiveness and foresight of the Group's sustainable strategies to combat the climate crisis. Measures that integrate environmental sustainability with business development thanks to prudent risk management and a careful assessment of growth opportunities. This allows Poste Italiane to protect the health and work of our employees, the wellbeing of communities and territories, and to create shared value for the benefit of our stakeholders and the country".

The rating awarded to the Group by CDP is in addition to the numerous recognitions obtained by Poste Italiane, which is included in the most prestigious international sustainability indices, including the Dow Jones Indices for the fourth year running, Euronext Vigeo-Eiris Indices, Euronext MIB® ESG, Euronext Equileap Gender Equality Eurozone 100, FTSE4Good, Integrated Governance Index, Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, Stoxx Global ESG Leaders. In addition to these, there are also the ratings obtained from important international agencies, such as the "AA" from MSCI, the score of 12.7 from Sustainalytics and the obtaining of the maximum score in the 3 E-S-G dimensions analysed by ISS.
